Harry Robinson Body Shop Now Open!

We now have the largest, most technological & environmentally friendly Collision Center in Arkansas!

Here’s a message from Harry about our history & our new facility.

We have always had a body shop, when we moved the dealership to it’s current location in 1987, we installed the best paint booth available then, along with other superior frame and air equipment.  Through the years and with the addition of GMC Truck we have out grown both the facility and the equipment.

When the chance to purchase the building that belonged to Hank’s Furniture next door to us came up we started working on a plan to convert the building into a environmentally friendly New Collision Center.  This building has given us the opportunity to increase our work and paint area from 4500 sq feet to 16000 sq feet, and add 4000 sq feet of parts storage.  Our estimating area is air conditioned and provides for two estimators, three insurance adjusters, and a Collision Center Director.  While having an estimate written we provide a waiting room with refreshments and a kids play area.  This new facility is also air conditioned as an added benefit for the employees, and customers.

The lights have been changed to T8 fixtures to provide superior lighting for our employees and insurance adjusters to look for all accident related damages to customer vehicles.  We added two new top of the line environmentally friendly GFS (Global Finish Solutions) Ultra Down Draft Heated Recirculating Paint Booths, the air systems in this new facility are run through a dual compressor system to avoid down time, and a refrigerated dryer, then run through a Tsunami dryer before being used in the paint booth, this help’s to eliminate any moisture in the New PPG Water-base Paint.  A new RoTool Central Vacuum System to pick up the dust when sanding on a vehicle, will help to improve the breathing conditions for our employees and customers.

Harry’s Body Shop Welcomes Kay Lynn!

Kay Lynn Wilkinson, Body Shop

Harry Robinson’s Body Shop has a new face around the office, and we are so glad to welcome her. Kay Lynn Wilkinson comes to us as a licensed insurance agent with 20 years of sales, service & administrative skills. She’s a native of Van Buren Arkansas and has a son who is a senior at Van Buren High School. I sat down with Kay and asked her to tell me a bit about herself & she handed over her resume. She said, “it’s a mess because I haven’t had to write one of these in 15 years!” I told her that I thought it was pretty great that she had been gainfully employed & wasn’t practiced up on her resume writing skills. She wasn’t excited about “tooting her own horn”. The community projects she participated in at her last place of employment were what she got quite excited talking about. Kay told me how much she enjoyed her activities in the Partners In Education Program (yay us!-we LOVE PIE!). She also worked with the Junior League and several mentoring programs. Speaking about Leadership and Mentoring programs was when she truly lit up. It was fun listening to her tell stories about these times. She is passionate about her service to young people. We are so happy to have her here in our Body Shop and can’t wait to have her help out with our community projects! We are super excited to get to know her & have her in our little family.

(If you are ever involved in an accident, please give us a chance to do your auto body and service work.  The insurance companies cannot tell you which body shop you can use. It’s the law; they don’t tell you that, but they have no control over which body shop you can take your vehicle to. I just wanted to throw that knowledge in there. So many don’t know it, I didn’t know it, and now that I do know I like to spread that knowledge!)

Welcome Kay Lynn to Harry’s Body Shop!

Totally Totaled.

So last time we “spoke” I was telling you about my accident experience. (Pt1, Pt2, Pt 3) and I also left you with the hope that my next post would be my “after” pics.  Well, that’s not gonna happen! The insurance company called and said that they would just settle with a check because of the fact that, as it turns out, my car needed new everything on one side. That combined with the mechanical work and it was a total loss. Since I really loved my Buick, I hadn’t ever considered what kind of car I wanted and that’s made it hard on me. Jackie (my salesperson at Harry Robinson Buick GMC), was nice enough to offer to let me drive a car from the lot on my Memorial Day weekend trip. I thought it would be so fun! The month of May has not been too kind to me, and that car was damaged in an accident as well. Seriously! It looks awful, my insurance company is gonna hate me now, and I’ve already been called “Crash” here at work today! I’ve got to be thankful because no one was hurt at all, and hopefully the repairs will be more minor than they look. This accident was just a freak thing. We were just getting over a little to the right to give a truck a little more room to come around a curve and boom we just fell over in a ditch…that’s pretty much all there is to that story. We’ve all gotten over a bit for someone who’s a little over the line, but this time the ditch caught me and away this car went…sideways into a ditch. I felt like the world hated me at that moment. Now, I’m hoping that with the passing of May will come the passing of my car troubles. I can only hope that my fortune comes true…this one was in my lunch today…You will spend many years in comfort and material wealth.  Sounds like a plan!  the beloved buick
