Sierra Full of Joy 3

We at Harry Robinson Buick GMC are  kicking off our yearly donation drive, Sierra Full of Joy. This is our 3rd exciting year to host this giving event. We hold the Fort Smith community and it’s children close to our hearts. The children of The Call and Children’s Emergency Shelter are especially near and dear to us.

First, I should tell you about The Call & The Children’s Emergency Shelter.
The Call’s vision is to have no waiting children in Arkansas foster care, but instead to have waiting, Christian families ready to take them in! Here’s a detailed blog I wrote about them last year: The CALL.
Fort Smith Children’s Emergency Shelter provides shelter & care, in a safe, structured home-like environment for children ages 6-17 who have been removed from their home due to neglect and/or abuse. Here’s more about them as well: Children’s Emergency Shelter

This year, CES needs help especially with the new addition to their mission for kids who have “aged” out of the foster care system. Here’s more detail about the Independent Living Program.

I am a huge fan of any organization or anyone who makes their mission fighting for foster children. Most of us have been fortunate enough not to have endured such an experience. It’s our job as decent humans, and hopefully you count yourself among them ;), to take care of those who can’t take care of themselves. Foster children sit at the top of that list. And the adage, teach a man to fish, who better to teach than the aging foster child. These kids need to be equipped for success in a world that seems to think they are down for the count. A world that hasn’t figured out these kids are conquerors.

Here’s how you can help this giving season, drop of your donations at Harry Robinson Buick GMC before December 15.  Below, I will post wish lists provided by both The CALL & CES.  You’re welcome to shop and bring donations or you can drop off cash donations and they will be passed on to The Call & CES so they can make the needed purchases.

If you would like more information about The CALL, Children’s Emergency Shelter or CES Independent Living Program you can email me cathyn@harryrobinson.com. I will be happy to connect you with any information you would like including volunteer & foster care opportunities.

Here are those wish lists:
