Fort Smith: Drive Sober

nhtsa_basic_300x250Everyone in the River Valley should be aware that August 14-Labor Day the Governor’s Highway Safety Association is cracking down on drunk driving. It’s never OK to drive under the influence, and the police will be looking for those who chose to do so. The penalties for Drunk Driving in Arkansas are quite severe, and we want to avoid those. Here are the penalties for the First time you are caught.

First DUI Conviction

  • 6-month driver’s license suspension
  • Between one day and one year jail sentence
  • Community service
  • $150 – $1,000 fine
  • Potential required use of ignition interlock device
  • Completion of Alcohol Education Program

Here’s the link to all the penalties for multiple offenses. I’m telling you they just get worse! I don’t know what I’d do with out a license for 6 months, and the fine, the embarrassment…I’d rather not.

If you want to stop drinking and need help here’s the link to AA Fort Smith.

Be Safe Ya’ll. <3
