A pair of employees cruise area businesses each Friday and the owner of the first Buick or GMC they see sporting a Harry Robinson badge near the taillights wins a goodie bag that includes a $50 gas gift card.
Harry Robinson films the search, as well as the surprised winner, and posts it on Facebook,YouTube and its Web site.
“We came up with this promotion because we wanted a video series and we wanted a loyalty program and Free Gas Friday brought them together,” Cathy Nesbit, social media specialist for Harry Robinson, told Edmunds.
The giveaway has got the community talking about the promotion, bolstered their social media traffic and helped sales, Nesbit said.
“We like to reward loyal customers and this helps keep us in their minds even after the purchase,” she said.
It makes Harry Robinson employees happy, too, serving as a morale booster.
“Because it’s a joy to hand out these free gas cards, our employees come up and ask if they can leave to help find the lucky person,” she said. “It feels good to make others feel good.”
