I’m not crying…ok I am, AGAIN
In the spirit of our December of Kindness, today we highlight Adoption.
Scott & Renee Durham, our GSM & GM, adopted a few years ago fulfilling Scott’s dream of paying it forward since his time as kid in the foster system.
Renee said, We think we change children’s lives with adoption, but the truth is they change ours. We experience and learn things we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to otherwise. If you can’t adopt or foster consider all the other ways you can help. If you want to know how you can help call me I would love to share!
These are the things one of our children recently told his teacher he is thankful for –

*If you’re considering adoption & you are in Arkansas, your first step is to either attend an informational meeting through @thecallincrawfordsebastian http://www.thecallinarkansas.org or fill out an inquiry form through DCFS online at http://www.fosterarkansas.org Either of these will get you started in the process! You can find out when the next informational meetings for The CALL are by visiting the website listed. At the info meeting you will learn all of details about becoming a foster or adoptive family and have the opportunity to sign up for training and begin the paperwork process. After training and CPR, you will have a home study and final walk through before opening to adopt. Once you are an open and approved home, you will be invited to all of Project Zero’s connection events and have the opportunity to inquire about waiting kids.
There are other ways you can help provide support including monetary donations, volunteering your time to help babysit & a host of other needs you can help meet. All you have to do to get started is reach out to The Call and ask how you can help.
Here are some ideas for spreading joy this week…

We will be posting ideas for spreading kindness all month long so please check back. Look for ways to spread cheer, and I know you will find great ones.
